As we know, earnings trades are very profitable but the risk is also very high. Many excuses will be given to drag down the stock price. A study has shown that only about 20% of the earnings report caused the gapping up.

With the weakening of US dollar, we (as a foreign trader or investor)  have to be very careful in this trading business. Your profits may not even cover the depreciation of US dollar in a near term!

　　昨天在上海举行的2007国际金融投资博览会上，投资大师吉姆罗杰斯先生再度语出惊人，

“我认为中国股市的牛市还将持续80年。”作为赫赫有名的量子基金创始人之一，罗杰斯称他从未卖出过中国股票，只有买入，最新一次的买入行为就发生在上周。

　　昨天，沪深两市双双创出历史新高。罗杰斯在接受媒体专访时提醒投资者，创出新高好事情，但要注意可能已经到了需要当心的时候了。“我不是足够聪明，不知道中国股市的调整是否马上会到来；我也不是一个对市场时机把握的很好的人，短线做得很差。我只是知道，当某样价格一直上涨，你就不得不小心了。”罗杰斯奉劝中国投资者，不要去盲目地听消息。“中国有些股票已经涨得很疯了，其中一些是被一些谣言、内幕消息炒高的，投资这些股票的风险很大。”反过来，他认为，在经济结构调整的背景下，中国的铁路行业将获得大量的投资，供水体系、污染治理行业、太阳能及风能发电等行业的上市公司未来20年将会有良好的发展。

　　放眼未来，罗杰斯却大胆预言，中国股票市场的整体牛市，可以维持80年到90年。

　　他表示，自从1999年首次买入中国股票起，从来没有卖出，只有买进，最近的一次买进是在上周，不过只买了一点。“这并不矛盾。”罗杰斯解释道，“中国将是下一个强国，我对此毫无疑问，在今后的几十年内投资中国将获得巨大的财富；即使中国股市再下跌50%，我也不愿意卖出中国股票。”

　　尽管如此，罗杰斯还是反复强调，一旦中国股市形成了“真正的泡沫”，他将不得不卖出股票。“我的观点没有变化，你必须对泡沫特别小心，现在还没有泡沫，现在还是酝酿泡沫的时候。”罗杰斯认为，中国股市涨了2年，这是可喜的，但同时也是不正常的。“我不希望它翻3倍，因为这样的话我就不得不卖了。”他强调，自己并不想卖出中国股票，但当泡沫形成的时候不得不卖。“我见过泡沫，泡沫形成时很有乐趣，一些人赚了很多钱；但是当泡沫破灭的时候，几乎每一个人都逃不了。”

　　除了畅谈中国股市之外，罗杰斯还对国际金融市场作了展望，认为美元、债券市场的黄金时代已经过去，大宗商品市场将继续红火。“未来数年，人民币将是世界上最坚挺的货币，而美元则将是最糟糕的货币。”1981年到2003年是投资债券的黄金时期，但是现在已经终结了，他不会买任何债券。说起投资什么市场最合适，罗杰斯又老调重弹，“世界上有另一个市场，是会一直走强的，它是自然资源、商品、原材料，但有很多人不了解它。”罗杰斯强调，本轮商品牛市可以持续到2014年到2022年。

16 stocks' daily charts (from 28-Mar-2007 to 6-Jul-2007):

I had these 16 stocks from my "straight line uptrend chart" program on 

28-Mar-2007. The criteria then were last volume done must >300,000 and 

daily price fluctuation ±10% along the gradient line in a 1-yr chart 

until 28Mar2007.

The following shows 11 out of the 16 stocks are return in positive %.

There were many exit opportunities for each individual stock during

this period (28Mar to 6Jul). 

Only two stocks were poorly done, PNM and XEL (all the way downtrend).
